PIT | Association of Professional Information Technologists

Governance

Our association is comprised of a governance body of seven board members, contributing members, and practicing members.

Governance Board

The governance board holds annual elections, selected by contributing members. The governance board determines fees, membership and entrance criteria. In addition, the board provides arbitration of disputes and findings with regard to issues brought before the board.

Contributing Members

The contributing members provide influence and guidance towards changes and updates to the charter, by-laws, and practice guidelines. Contributing membership requires a minimum of 5 years as a practicing member to qualify along with nominations by an existing contributing member.

Practicing Members

The practicing members comprises the largest membership group. To be a practicing member, you must comply with all association requirements and successfully pass the PIT Exam. In addition, the practicing member must be in good standing with the association.
